Paminco’s Rosebery mine (now owned by MMG) zinc-silver-gold-lead-copper mine  at Rosebery on Tasmania’s west coast. It is approximately 300 kilometres north-west of Hobart.

In 2000 – 2001, the mine produced over 700,000 tonnes of zinc, lead and copper concentrates and doré, a semi-pure alloy of gold and silver. The gold/silver alloy bars are sold to a refinery in Perth where they refined into gold bullion.

In 2002, Pasminco decided to construct a huge mass concrete earth retaining wall for coarse ore handling at the mine. GHD was commissioned to design the retaining wall.

Dr James Aldred conducted the thermal modelling.
